Hello! I’m Son Dinh-Van, an Assistant Professor at WMG, The University of Warwick. I’m from Vietnam.
My research focuses on wireless communications, particularly the physical layer and lower layers of radio access networks (RANs). I completed my PhD at the Centre for Wireless Innovation (CWI), Queen’s University Belfast.
I love math. I find it beautiful and fundamental to almost everything we do. I enjoy looking at ideas through a mathematical lens and then implementing them in real systems if possible. In wireless communications, this is not always easy; but when theory works in practice, it is rewarding.
My current research interests
- Dynamic metasurface antennas for future MIMO systems
- Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces
- AI-driven radio control for reliable and secure wireless networks
- Connected mobility and non-terrestrial networks
